This morning was an intense one: starting with a glorious chat with René Seifert,  a true global citizen who provides the ground with his company Level 360 in India on two major areas: Globalization and Web 2.0, also being an angel investor in companies in the media/tech-space, he seems to be at the same time everywhere else in the world (get a glimpse of his world tours here).

First day of DLD always means to feel like being back in childhood when Sundays still felt like Sundays: blue sky, an incredible beautiful and empty Hofgarten where I walk through on my way to Pinakothek der Moderne where we have a date with its major design curator of “Die Neue Sammlung“, Dr. Corinna Rösner, will give us a private tour around one of the world’s leading museums of 20th century applied art, and indeed the largest of industrial design.

Gestern war einer dieser Sonntage, der sich angefühlt hat wie hellblaue Luft mit Teilchenbeschleunigern. Er begannt mit einem Berliner Morgen und einem, in der Tat raren, Phänomen: Sonne. Die Bettdecke wurde hektisch beiseite geschüttelt, die Körper in Mäntelchen gehüllt und das Auto Richtung Tiergarten gepeitscht.

Super! Sonne, Luft, so was wie Bäume, und alle anderen noch beim Ausschlafen unter elterlicher Heimataufsicht.  Ganz viel Muse zum einatmen, bis die Nase einfrier und den obligatorischen Kaffee in Kombination mit den liebsten Eskapismusmagazinen, die den Plan für die vier Wochen Auswanderung im Dezember 09 …

I already feel like a real Parisienne this morning when I am running down “my” street at the wonderful République, wearing a really French style hat and hopping on the métro to head to LeWeb again. Not sure, if these drinks last night at the mySpace Party in the illustrious Palais Maillot were really good for the look of freshness but they helped to deal with my electronic seeking ears which, of course, would not get what they were longing for this night.

Ok, but let’s get back to business. …

Es sind diese Momente, in denen sich Berlin als Metropole anfühlt. Und damit meine ich METROPOLE und nicht das Berlinchen, das sich kosmopolit gibt, aber dann irgendwie auf halber Strecke, das mit der Hingabe zur wahrhaftigen Vollendung vermasselt. Ups, da hat wohl jemand vergessen, den Caterer anzufragen (Ergebnis: 15 Minuten Aufenthalt – Weinchen trinken – Schwips – Heißhunger – akuter Aufbruch zum Lieblingsburrito-Etablisment – Marketingaktion fehlgeschlagen) /slash/ Vergessen, dass die geladene und schon so ein bisschen ältere Ausgeh-Szene eigentlich die falsche Zielgruppe für den neueröffneten H&M Store am Hackeschen Markt …

Temporär.Und sie sind alle da. Wer am Wochenende das große nächtliche Getümmel verpasst hat, kann das ganz leichtfüßig hier von nun an montagabends nachholen.

I was lucky to be invited to a concert of the Danish National Orchestra in Berlin’s Philharmony.
